WINE PATH: COUNTRYSIDE AMBIENCE, TYPICAL WINES AND COLONIAL COFFEE VERY CLOSE TO CURITIBA
What about to visit Colônia Mergulhão, a rural settlement just 28 km away from downtown Curitiba?
European immigrants – mainly from Italy – settled here at the end of the 19th century and began to grow small farms.
In 2004 the local community founded the Wine Path association to make the place more attractive to visitorsand make tourism an alternative source of income.
The visitors that today go to the “Wine Route” like to spend a pleasant day strolling around, tasting and buying local produces and have a delicious afternoon buffet – our so called “café colonial”. At the café, you will taste salty and sweet dishes, teas, coffees and assorted juices, besides having the opportunity to buy local handicrafts. The wine produced locally is simple and handcrafted with traditional techniques such as those used by immigrants.
This is a private tour, meaning the guide will accompany you personally to visit the best places.
The Wine Route is a much sought after tour by the curitibanos. Be prepared to face lines at some spots.
