‒ Be picked up at your hotel or central address at 7:45 AM. You will go directly to the train station and you will not have to be driven by other addresses or wait for other people ‒ it is a private tour.

‒ Experience one of the most famous train journeys in the world and visit Morretes! The train ride crosses the Serra do Mar in the largest preserved stretch of Atlantic Forest in the country. Be astounded by all the green around you during the tour, which lasts approximately 4 hours and 15 minutes.

Free time to visit Morretes and have lunch wherever you prefer.

‒ Visit also Antonina, with its historic houses and beautiful bay. You will see Antonina Bay close by during a 40-minute boat tour. Here you can see the mangrove swamps ‒ very important for the reproduction of fish and crustaceans ‒ with the Serra do Mar in the background. To brighten up the tour, it is very common to see typical birds of the region, such as spoonbills, biguás (cormorants), herons, red guarás (maned wolves), punches and, with a little luck, porpoises will accompany the boat.

‒ Take the opportunity to learn more about the history, curiosities, fauna and flora of the places visited. The tour is accompanied by an official tourist guide, who will make your experience richer.

The stretch of railroad that connects the capital of Paraná to the coast goes through the Serra do Mar. The construction work of this railroad was started in 1880 and was considered a great challenge for the engineers of the time. The route begins in Curitiba at 934 m above sea leveland crosses the largest continuous area of preserved Atlantic Forest in Brazil. This forest is considered one of the five richest biomes in the world.

This journey is frequently cited, by Brazilian and foreign experts, as one of the most beautiful railway rides in the world! It is a contemplative trip and the guide on board explains the whole history of the construction of the railway and curiosities.

The tour may be delayed due to logistic reasons of the railroad.

‒ It is the largest class and currently has 22 wagons. Most cars seat 48 people, with cushioned seats and an aisle in the middle. All cars have a toilet.

‒ The trip includes the services of a guide that tells the whole history and curiosities of the railroad (in Portuguese / English). Also included are one bottle of water or soda per person and a simple snack. Feel free to bring an extra snack and, especially, water.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to choose the seats, but they are numbered to facilitate boarding. Reservations are made in sequential order.

7:45 AM – Our guide will pick you up at the prearranged location (hotels and central addresses in Curitiba).

2 reviews for Train Tour and Boat Tour in Antonina – private

  1. Jean Pierre Guay

We had a very good guide who take the time for additionnal visits in a lot of interesting small local places. We enjoy all our day, but the boat trip could be improve (only 45 minutes).

  2. Thomas Moore

Enjoyed the tour. It was a little rushed once we got to Morretes and subsequently Antonina for the boat ride because the train ride was delayed by over 90 minutes. Not sure who to hold responsible. The guide was helpful and did the best she could given the train delay. There was also some confusion at first – the local operator did not know we had the boat ride included in our package, But it did get sorted out and all worked out fine.
