‒ You will be picked up at your hotel or central address in Curitibaat 7:45 AM. You will be driven directly to the Train Station, because this is a private tour.

‒ Experience one of the most famous train journeys in the world and visit Morretes! The train ride crosses the Serra do Mar in the largest preserved stretch of Atlantic Forest in the country. Be astounded by all the green around you during the tour, which lasts approximately 4 hours and 15 minutes.

Time to see Morretes and have lunch wherever you please.

‒ In the afternoon, time to exercise a little. No experience is required ‒ just feel free to do some activity on the river. The local guide knows all the ropes and will accompany your canoeing safely and knowledgeably! Canoeing lasts approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, and then you can take a hot shower.

‒ Take the opportunity to learn more about the history, curiosities, fauna and flora of the places visited. The tour is accompanied by an official tourist guide, who will make your experience richer.


The stretch of railroad that connects the capital of Paraná to the coast goes through the Serra do Mar. Its construction began in 1880 and was a great challenge for the engineers of the time.The route begins in Curitiba, 934 meters abovesea level and crosses the largest continuous preservation area of Atlantic Rain Forest in Brazil until it reaches Curitiba. This forest is considered one of the five richest biomes in the world.

This journey is frequently cited, by Brazilian and foreign experts, as one of the most beautiful railway rides in the world! It is a contemplative trip and the guide on board explains the whole history of the construction of the railway and curiosities.

The distance between Curitiba and Morretes is almost 70 km and the journey takes approximately 4 hours and 15 minutes. The route includes bridges, tunnels, rivers, waterfalls, canyons and is made on a train from the 1960s.

The train goes slowly and delays may occur due to the traffic of freight trains and technical railroad issues. Feel free to bring your additional snack or drinks (amount that fits in your backpack).

The tour includes the ticket in the tourist class, which is the largest and has a guide in Portuguese, cushioned seats, 1 water or soda and simple snack. If you wish guide on board in English, ask us for other categories (extra fee applies).


7:45 AM – Our guide will pick you up at the prearranged location (hotels and central addresses in Curitiba).

8:30 AM – Departure of the train ride from Curitiba to Morretes.

Upon arrival in Morretes (estimated for 12:45 PM), guided tour with your local guide in the historic center of Morretes.

Lunch is not included and we suggest the menu is typical of the region, with “barreado” ‒ beef stew that is served with rice, cassava flour and banana and will have side dishes such as salad, fish and shrimp. If you are a vegetarian or vegan, please inform us in advance when you make your reservation.

2 PM ‒ Transfer to the departure point of canoeing

2:30 – 4 PM ‒ Canoeing on the Nhundiaquara River

Hot shower before returning.

5 PM ‒ Return to Curitiba by Estrada da Graciosa or BR-277 depending on the weather conditions.

6:30 PM ‒ Arrival in Curitiba.

Level of difficulty:This tour is designed for people of moderate physical fitness who feel comfortable with water activities. Prior experience in canoeing is not required.

If you prefer, the tour canoe tour can be made in the morning and the train tour in the afternoon. Inform your preference in your booking request.

IMPORTANT! Delays and cancellations may occur due to technical railroad issues. We do not recommend booking this tour if you have a scheduled flight on the same day.

Required Documents: all must bring original documents or certified copies with photos. Children under 12 years of age can travel with an original birth certificate or a certified copy of this document. The current Brazilian legislation applies in case the child is traveling without the parents.

What to take:

confortable shoes (may get wet); light clothing and a warm jacket if it gets cold; rain coat; mosquito repellent and sun screen; bathing suit and towel; cash, as there are not international ATMs in Morretes.
