The idea about Special Paraná was born in Germany, where Bibiana was partner of a tour operation and Ulrich owned an event agency. With the goal to move back to Brazil, both decided to unite their business and open a new company, specialized on incoming tourism and event organization in Curitiba.

In January 2007 both arrived in Curitiba and Special Paraná was opened on February 5th of the same year. The first office was located at Tijucas Building, one of the oldest ones in downtown Curitiba, a very central environment and next to the main hotels, banks and shops in general.

The inicial focus of the company was personalized service to foreign tourists and qualified services to international shows.

In April 2007 the first prospection trip took place and the feedbacks were great. We had our first clients: incoming tour operators specialized on the international market. Curiously, the first clients were from Bangladesh, but soon the European clients were the most. In May of the same year, one more fantastic happening: we had a famous international circus as client for all Latin America. Our technicians travelled with the circus and were responsible for the set-up and tear-down of the shows during 3 years.

Since 2008 we have websites in Portuguese and English where people from all over the world get information and can book online. Always with the attentive look of the team, always ready to suggest things and treat every client as individual, not a number.

2010 Ulrich left the operational work in the company and few years later Bibiana became the sole owner, focusing more on incoming tourism.

2011 we began to welcome cruise ships in Paranaguá harbor. It was such an enjoy to realize that after every stop the number of people booking tours increased – it was clear we were doing a good job!

2012 it was so far: change of address. We moved into a more modern office, also very central, now at Rua Voluntários da Pátria, 262.

FIFA World Cup 2014 was a period of much growth and learning. We had prepared ourselves years ahead: clients inspections, meetings, workshops and trainings. During the games in Curitiba we had clients from very different backgrounds and nationalities: from Spanish journalists to clients in private jets. It was an amazing experience and we had the help of 28 professionals to make everything happen: guides, desks at the hotels, stadium and airport. ntense work days and sure to have rendered the best service and unforgetable moments to our clients. We helped to present Curitiba to the world as a tourist destination.

2016 was a great year for us: we received Tripadvisor´s Certificate of Excellence. We also won the prize “Panorama do Turismo” for your “Car wash Tour”, that tells about the corruption investigation in Brazil (based in Curitiba!) and we also got a Quality Seal by Sebrae, a renowned institution.

The year of 2017 has been crowned by the second Tripadvisor´s Certificate of Excellence. A true proof that we are loyal to our core goat to ensure the satisfaction of our clients.

2018 was a challeging and cheerful year: third Certificate of Excellence in a row, again Quality Seal and we began to work with tours for schools The presentation of the tours for schools was made in great style during an event for school directors and coordinators.

2019 we have increased considerably the number of clients. It was possible due to better work processes and efficiency of the team. We have invested on team trainings and new equipments.

Our history is made daily, with the hard work of our team to accomplish our mission: “To offer the best experience to our clients, with tailor-made services and attention to details.”

Our Team

Bibiana Antoniacomi

Director

Bibiana was born in Curitiba, was exchange student at Rotary Club in Caracas/Venezuela 1993 and 1994, graduated in Tourism at UFPR 1997. As student, Bibiana worked in a communication agency, as receptionist in events and also in the marketing department of a local hotel chain. She left Curiiba to study in Spain where she specialized on Tourism Business Administration at ESADE in Barcelona.

After Spain, she lived for more than 7 years in Germany, where she worked in hotels, incoming travel agency and tour operator specialized in South America. During that time, she organized individual, groups and incentive trips in Europe and Latin America. 2007 she decided it was about time to returnto Brazil to open Special Paraná, an incoming travel agency in Curitiba. Bibiana speaks Portuguese, English, German, Spanish and French. She also works as business menthor and speaker.

Luana Munhoz da Rocha Nóbrega

Commercial and Products Coordinator

Luana graduated in Tourism and worked in the information desk, in hotel´s reservation deparment and an exchange travel agency before joining our team. She is a true “curitibana” and studied part of her gratuation time in Spain. She has an incredible mood. Luana is responsible for the schools, for negociating with clients and suppliers and also for the development of tours. Luana speaks Portuguese, Spanish and English.

Lilian Carvalho Baraus

Operational Coordinator

Lilianis another “curitibana” and graduated in Tourism at PUC-PR in 2012. She spent some time in Ireland to learn English and worked 5 years at an incoming tour agency before joining us. She knows our region very well and gets a lot of compliments of the clients. Lilian is in charge of groups, agencies and companies. As coordinator, she checks the requests and is always looking that everything runs smoothly. Sjhe loves to read and is fascinated by history. Lilian speaks Portuguese and learns English.

Monica Braga Pinto

Operational Assistent

Monica studies Tourism at UFPF and worked in a hotel before joining our team. She loves the cultural activities of Curitiba and is always updated about what is going on in museums and exhibitions. She loves to plan tours and gets emotional about the positive feedbacks she gets – it is a joy to work with peoples´ dreams. She works with individual clients and anwers their doubts and requests by WhatsApp and by phone.

Caroline Kwasnicki Pereira

Marketing (free-lancer)

Caroline was born in Curitiba and studied Institutional Communication at UTFPR and post-graduated on Marketing at Universidade Positivo. She worked with us during 5 years and now helps us now and then with our website and Instagram. Besides marketing, Caroline loves photography. She speaks Portuguese and English .
